Most of my time is spent working on the Craft Beer Channel, a YouTube channel dedicated to the great beer, food and travel. We travel the world hunting down the best breweries, people and places to tell their story in short (and occasionally feature length) documentaries. We’re all about getting to the human element of beer – after all, it is the social glue that helps hold so much of our society together. That doesn’t just mean having great conversations and learning about our favourite drink, it also means championing people who live and work ethically and do their best to make the world a better place.
Since founding it as a hobby with my amazing buddy Brad Evans, it’s gathered over 100,000 subscribers and 5 million views. We’ve made an award-winning feature length documentary about New England, travelled to China’s Oktoberfest, covered the homebrew scene in the Norway’s Arctic Circle, brewed collaboration beers with some of the world’s best breweries and raised £1,000s for charity.
But what we’re most proud of is the smaller community that has built around it. We have over 250 Patreons who support what we do with a small subscription fee, and in return they get access to The Bubble, our online chat forum. This judgement free, welcoming and beer geeky space is one of my favourite places to hang out in the world.
